Normajean (Ulery) MacLeod’s book and art reviews, newspaper articles, essays, and poetry have won awards and been published in national and international publications such as NEW AMERICA (University of New Mexico Press). Her two poetry collections, WOMANCLATURE, The Queen Bee Syndrome and Poetica Erotica, are published by American Studies Press, Inc.
She has directed workshops in Florida, Arizona, New York and the Republic of China. She was a panelist at conferences of the World Congress of Poets in San Francisco, and United Poets Laureate in Phoenix.
A mostly self-educated high-school graduate, hers was the only paper presented at the 2006 International Lawrence Durrell Society Conference, University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada by someone who was not an academic, and her poem, Dear Henry was the only poem published in Nexus, The International Henry Miller Journal, 2006.
Her awards include writer’s scholarship residencies at the Ucross Foundation, The Ragdale Foundation, and The Corporation of Yaddo.
