WOMANCLATURE, The Queen Bee Syndrome

“The Queen Bee Syndrome deals with fallacies, flaws, ‘typical’ and ‘atypical’ characteristics and behaviors, as well as the depth, strength and complexities of American women.  When I had finished it, I discovered that Donald Harkness, professor at the University of South Florida and publisher of American Studies Press, Inc., was issuing a series of poetic chapbooks ‘about women by women’.  He accepted my manuscript, and it was published in 1984.”

Poetica Erotica

POETICA EROTICA

“Joe Joeb, American Studies Press illustrator, said he would like to do a book with me.  Did I have any suggestions?  I told him I was researching cultural erotica at Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute as well as ideas formed after conducting a poetry workshop at a state mental institution. It was then that I became acutely aware that the word love had lost meaning.  There is more to love than love.”
